How to create a way to earn?

Define how customers earn loyalty points — for purchases, actions, or events — so they can start collecting rewards. Here’s how to set up an earning method in BLOY.

Step 1: Open Points Program

From your BLOY dashboard, go to Points Program and click Add way to earn.

Step 2: Pick an Earning Type

Choose the type of earning rule you want to create. Common types include:

• Sign up
• Make a purchase
• Celebrate your birthday

Step 3: Configure the Rule

Set the earning name and status if needed and determine how to earn points:

• Fixed number of points: customers earn a fixed number of points for each purchase made, regardless of the order value
• Increments of points: customers earn points incrementally from a set base amount for each purchase made
• Apply to products: Select the products or collections which customers can get points after buying.
• Exclude products: Select the products that are excluded from this point-earning way.

Points withdrawal:

• Choose when customers can be rewarded points: When order is paid **or **fulfilled?
• Choose when to withdraw points from customers: When order is canceled **or **refunded, or **never withdraw. **

Step 4: Save and Test

Click Save. Then run a quick test (create a test account or place a test order) to confirm points are being awarded correctly.

Pro Tips

Combine a signup bonus with points per spend to both acquire and retain customers. Example:

• Action: “100 points for signup” — a fast way to incentivize account creation.
• Fixed: “50 points per order” — good for encouraging repeat purchases.
• Per amount: “1 point per $5 spent” — scales with customer spend.

Troubleshooting

• If points aren’t awarded, check: rule Status, eligibility filters, and whether the action is tracked (for action-based rules).
• For review-based rewards, confirm your review integration (e.g., Judge.me) is connected and authorized.
