How to create a way to earn?

Create a way to earn by setting up an earning rule that allows customers to collect points for specific actions. Here's how to set it up.


Step 1: Open Points Program

  1. Go to Points Program
  2. Click Add way to earn

Step 2: Pick an Earning Type

Choose the type of earning rule you want to create. For example:

  • Sign up
  • Make a purchase
  • Celebrate your birthday

Step 3: Configure the Rule

Configuration options vary by earning type. The example below shows the settings available for the most popular earning type: Make a purchase.




Set the Earning name and Status.
2. Choose how points are calculated:

  • Fixed number of points: Customers earn a fixed number of points for each purchase made, regardless of the order value.
  • Increments of points: Customers earn points based on how much they spend. For example, if you set For every $100 spent = 1 point, a customer who spends $200 will earn 2 points, and a customer who spends $500 will earn 5 points.
  • Apply to products: Select the products or collections that customers can get points after buying.
  • Exclude products: Select the products or collections that are excluded from this point-earning way.


  1. Configure order settings:
  • Choose when customers receive points: when order is** Paid** or Fulfilled.
  • Choose when to withdraw points from customers: when order is Canceled or Refunded.


Step 4: Save and Test

  1. Click Save.
  2. Run a quick test by creating a test account or placing a test order.
  3. Confirm that points are being awarded correctly.

Pro Tips


  • Combine Sign up and Make a purchase to encourage customers to join and shop again: earn 100 points for sign up and 50 points per order.

Troubleshooting

  • If customers do not receive points, check if the BLOY Points Program Status is turned on. Check if the customer has joined the program and the earning action happened before or after the BLOY Points Program was enabled.
